8 jaw-dropping NASA pics: A trip around our solar system

NASA, National Aeronautics and Space Administration, has shared a series of amazing photos of the planets and other celestial bodies in our solar system.

The picture shows the full Moon above Earth's horizon, with the International Space Station floating 262 miles above the Indian Ocean, south of Madagascar.

The Sun is the central star of our solar system. Its gravity keeps everything in place and ensures that all the planets and objects stay in their orbits.

Mercury is the nearest planet to the Sun and the smallest one in our solar system, only a bit bigger than Earth's Moon.

Venus is the second planet from the Sun and the sixth largest. It’s also the hottest planet in our solar system.

Mars is the fourth planet from the Sun, and the seventh largest.

Neptune is the eighth planet from the Sun and is known for its deep blue colour. It is one of the largest planets in our solar system and has strong winds and storms.

Saturn is the sixth planet from the Sun and the second largest planet in our solar system.

Jupiter is the fifth planet from the Sun and the largest in the solar system, being more than twice as massive as all the other planets combined.

Our solar system is full of amazing planets, each with its own special features. From Venus’s extreme heat to Saturn’s beautiful rings and Jupiter’s huge size, every planet has something unique.
