Kriti Sanon’s characters, twin sisters Saumya and Shailee didn’t have a happy family. Saumya, the emotionally weaker sister grew up psychologically challenged due to her mother’s murder by her father and the others forcing her to keep mum about it.

Saumya wanted to fool the world into
believing that she was happily married to
Dhruv, when she was physically assaulted
by him regularly. However, in the end, she
decided to stand her ground and punish
him for his misdeeds.

Saumya and Shailee didn’t share a happy
sisterly bond. However, when Shailee saw
her sister’s mental health deteriorating due
to Saumya’s abusive husband Dhruv, she
joined forces with her to punish him.

Inspector and legal-practitioner Jyothi, played
by Kajol, is an upright law-abiding individual.
But she chose to keep the truth of the twins’
scheme to punish Dhruv from the judge and
let her morality take over her righteousness.

All humans consist of both good and evil
sides. Even though Shailee wanted to snatch
everything away from her twin Saumya and
ruin her life, she ended up supporting
Saumya during her lowest phase.
